Post-Newsweek Media Buys Agfa Platesetters for New State-of-the-Art Printing Plant.
Agfa Graphics announced today that Post-Newsweek Media, a newspaper and commercial printer serving the Washington, D.C./Baltimore, Maryland market, has purchased three :Advantage CLS platesetters with :Arkitex NewsDrive from Agfa to bring state-of-the-art CtP technology to its new plant in Laurel, Maryland, which is expected to begin operations in the first quarter of 2007.

Agfa HealthCare Signs Multi-Million Dollar PACS Project with Thomas Memorial Hospital
Agfa HealthCare announced today that it has signed a multi-million dollar deal with Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston, West Virginia (USA), a 260-bed facility that provides a complete Radiology Information System / Picture Archiving and Communication System / Reporting and Computed Radiology (RIS/PACS/Reporting and CR) solution. The installation includes Agfa HealthCare’s IMPAX™ 6.0 PACS and the newest version of Agfa HealthCare’s reporting solution, TalkStation™ 3.1. It also includes six DX-S CR systems, which feature Agfa HealthCare’s unique DirectriX™ needle-based detector technology and Scanhead™ line-to-line CR stimulation and light collection technology, for improved image quality and workflow.
